Torah, Acts of Justice, and Prayer

Temple Shalom is hosting three special learning opportunities for 6th Grade Families to focus on the three major elements of the Bmitzvah experience: Torah, Acts of Justice, and Prayer.

We hope you can join us for the following dates. Please register below.

Torah:
Family Torah Learning
Sunday, January 7th, 11:00am with Rabbi Gubitz

How do I study Torah in order to prepare for giving a D’var Torah at my BMitzvah? We will focus on the story of our patriarch Jacob to learn about different ways to explore Torah and connect it to our own lives!

Mitzvot:
Acts of Justice
Sunday, March 3rd, 11:00am with Rabbi Gubitz

A Mitzvah Project?  What does that even mean? I’m only 13, how can I make an impact? Through a Jewish lease, we will explore social justice issues that concern us, and the power of youth voices!

Prayer:
Learners BMitzvah Service
Saturday, March 16th, 10:45-12:15pm with Rabbi Abrasley

What happens in a BMitzvah service anyways? What does it look like to stand up in front of a community and read from the Torah, or give a D'var Torah speech? Gather to attend a BMitzvah service and hang out with Rabbi Abrasley for brunch afterwards to process your experience.

Please indicate all events you will attend.
