Rabbi Michael Marmur, Dean, Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem

Michael Marmur was ordained a rabbi in the Israel Program of Hebrew Union College, and holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Jewish Thought at the Hebrew University.  His 2005 dissertation is on the thought of Abraham Joshua Heschel.

In addition to this administrative responsibilities, Rabbi Marmur has taught courses at the College such as Why I am a Reform Jew, Jewish Theologies of Prayer, An introduction to Jewish Preaching, and more.  He lectures and teaches frequently in Israel and around the world.  This past year Rabbi Marmur has presented papers or taught classes at the Tantur Ecumenical Institue of Jerusalem, the Centrum Judaicum in Berlin, the University of Warsaw, Leo Baeck College in London, Florida, Atlantic University, Tel Aviv University, the Open University of Israel, and synagogues in Israel, the United States and Canada.  Michael is married to Sarah, and they have three children - Miriam, Nadva and Gaby.
